Classic gin martinis are one of the most under appreciated cocktails out there. It takes time to select and perfect the ingredients and methods required for an impeccable gin martini. Meticulous Virgo (August 23-September 22) will no doubt have mastered this meditative ritual: the perfect cocktail party cannot proceed without a martini. A very, very Virgo pro tip: make a large batch of martinis ahead of time. Because a good Virgo plans way ahead, there is very likely a batch bottled up in their freezer, ready to pull out at a moment’s notice. How else could Virgo watch as their guests marvel at their effortless hosting skills?
Gin Martini Recipe
INGREDIENTS
2 oz Roku Japanese gin
1 oz blanc vermouth
.50 oz dry vermouth
3 castelvetrano olives
Lemon twist
Ice for stirring
INSTRUCTIONS
- Build all your ingredients in a mixing glass, add ice and stir until chilled and diluted.
- Strain into a chilled martini glass.
- Express the oil from a lemon twist over the martini and discard the twist.
- Garnish with 3 olives on a cocktail pick.
