The Fitzgerald Cocktail

A play on the gin sour, the Fitzgerald – a nod to author F. Scott Fitzgerald’s love for gin – is the perfect sip to close out summer. Angostura bitters add a touch of herbaceous flavor to the otherwise bright, sunny cocktail. It’s a great aperitif to kick off a hearty backyard barbecue. As the author would say, “First a man takes a drink; then the drink takes a drink; then the drink takes a man.”

Description

We’re lovers of The Great Gatsby ourselves. 


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz gin
  • ¾ oz lemon juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup
  • 2 dashes Angostura Bitters
  • Lemon wedge and currants, to garnish


Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice, then shake.
  2. Strain into a coupe glass, garnish with a lemon wedge and currants, then enjoy!
  3. We recommend pairing it with a summery starter, like this Squash Galette.
