Bloody Beet Red Mocktail

  • Author: Sarah Cascone

Description

A blood-red Halloween mocktail made with beet juice, blood orange juice, fresh lime and agave, shaken and served in a glass rimmed with black salt. Earthy, tart and just sweet enough.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup beet juice
  • 2 cups blood orange juice, fresh or bottled
  • 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lime juice (about 4 limes), plus 1 lime wedge for the rims
  • 1 to 2 tbsp agave syrup, to taste
  • Coarse black salt, such as black lava salt, for the rims
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Rim the glasses. Rub the lime wedge around the rim of each glass, then dip the rim into the salt. Fill the glasses with ice.
  2. Shake. Working in two batches, add half of the beet juice, blood orange juice, lime juice and agave to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until the outside of the shaker is frosty, about 15 seconds.
  3. Strain and serve. Strain into the prepared glasses. Repeat with the remaining ingredients and serve immediately.
