Ceviche Love
My Trip to Costa Rica
Posted: Dec. 14, 2011

Ceviche is the dish I ate almost every day from the Caribbean coast to the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Along with gallo pinto, ceviche seems ubiquitous in this country, served from street-side stands, in markets, and in fancy restaurants. Along with beans n' greens, ceviche is on my short list of dishes that I know I could eat every single day and never tire of them.

Having returned from sunny coastal Costa Rica to landlocked wintery Pittsburgh, I will miss being able to find ceviche around every corner! Here, when I get a craving, there seems to be only a handful of places I can go to fill that urge. My current favorites are Pollo Latino in the Strip, which serves it on weekends only with a big batch of homemade tortilla chips, and for a very unique, Peruvian variation, I like Aji Picante in Squirrel Hill.
